2018.
January 2nd @ 15:37 \ Finally a break in the extreme cold. Zero degrees feels balmy compared to the -30 we’ve been experiencing here in yeg.
February 2nd @ 17:03
February 25th @ 15:59 \ Lining up shots is more difficult without the usual mid point I’ve used in the past years. Luckily I always had a backup of the two power towers in the back. You can see the one on the left, the one on the right is hidden behind those houses.
March 21st @ 16:43 \ We’re at the cross roads of seasons. Lovely couple days with sun and spring temps only to have a snowfall warning for Friday.
April 16th @ 14:56 \ Edmonton is experiencing the longest winter in 4 decades. We’re expecting ~10 cm over the next couple days. It’s also Charlie Chaplin’s 129th birthday today.
April 28th @ 17:28 \ While looting the site of The Granary for a couple scraps before they are gone for good, four boys came down from one of the huge dirt piles nearby. Initially they thought I was going to call the police on them. I wasn’t, I didn’t know they were up there until they started debating coming down and their voices carried. They told me they knew the building and asked why I thought it, and other farm buildings they’d explored just north, were gone. Making room for new houses is my answer. After a bit more chatting about how they would paint in one of the other farm buildings and once came upon a huge porcupine in one of them, they decided to move on and go catch some frogs in a nearby water feature.
May 27th @ 15:57 \ The penultimate year begins.
June 13th @ 15:50 \ This part of the world feels empty.
July 6th @ 16:18 \ Not long ago, the field where the houses are now, would be filled with grain basking in the hot sun.
August 5th @ 16:24
September 12th @ 14:43 \ I wish I were as excited as Bing, Danny, Rosemary, and Vera-Ellen were about snow
October 5th @ 15:17 \ There seems to be a lull of change in this view. There is so much going on around, yet this has stayed relatively the same for a couple months
November 3rd @ 16:46 \ The days are getting shorter. The snow is probably here to stay.
December 7th @ 15:08
